As an adjunct to  my Hyakunin Isshu translation project I would also like to include one hundred English language tanka by one hundred contemporary poets to appear here in this twin blog of my Hyakunin Issue blog. If you would like one of your tanka to be considered please use the submission form you will find in the tab above. You may submit up to three tanka for consideration, but only one poem per poet will be entered if selected. My preference is for previously published Tanka, but I will look at unpublished ones too.

I plan to post the first set of Tanka on July 1st then add others periodically* thereafter until the limit of 100 Tanka is reached. If you would like to be notified when each new Tanka is added please use the 'follow by email' option in the box on the right hand side.

*For example, daily, bi-weekly or weekly -- to be decided depending upon how quickly suitable submissions come in.
